Warranty claim
A request to perform a repair under warranty — the moment your documentation starts to matter more than your story.
Part of the Claims & money cluster.
What it means
A warranty claim is the process of asking for a covered repair: the dealer diagnoses the failure, documents it on a repair order, and seeks approval from the manufacturer or plan administrator. Your maintenance records and the repair order are the evidence trail.
Why it matters
A claim succeeds or fails on documentation. Keep every repair order, ask for the diagnosis in writing, and confirm which coverage family the claim was filed under — it sets which term and exclusions apply.
What it is NOT
It is not a lawsuit, not an insurance claim, and not the same as a recall remedy — recalls do not run through your warranty terms at all.
