Warranty booklet
The document that defines your coverage — terms, exclusions, claim steps, and owner obligations in the manufacturer’s own words.
Part of the Documents & law cluster.
What it means
The warranty booklet (often part of the owner’s manual set) is the authoritative statement of what the factory warranty covers, what it excludes, and how to make a claim. It also lists your obligations, such as maintenance requirements.
Why it matters
Every dispute resolves against this text. Keeping the booklet — or downloading it from the manufacturer — means you can quote the exact clause instead of arguing from memory at the counter.
What it is NOT
It is not the owner’s manual (which is about operating the car), not a sales brochure, and not the same document as an extended service contract — those have their own terms.
Related terms
Terms in this glossary describe general warranty practice and US norms — they are informational, not legal advice, and not a reading of your specific warranty booklet.
