Goodwill repair
A repair the manufacturer pays toward as a customer-relations gesture — not because the warranty requires it. Discretionary, never promised.
Part of the Claims & money cluster.
What it means
A goodwill (customer-relations) repair is when a manufacturer or dealer contributes to an out-of-warranty repair to keep a customer satisfied. It is discretionary — there is no entitlement, and the contribution varies case by case.
Why it matters
Goodwill is the bridge between expired and covered. A calm, documented service history with the dealer is the strongest context for a contribution — ask the service manager to submit a customer-relations request.
What it is NOT
It is not warranty coverage, not a recall, not a special coverage adjustment, and not something to count on — the answer can be no, and no one can promise one.
