Aftermarket parts warranty
The warranty that comes with a non-factory part — separate provider, separate terms, separate from your vehicle warranty.
Part of the Exclusions & limits cluster.
What it means
An aftermarket parts warranty is coverage provided by the part’s maker or the shop that installed it — for the part itself and sometimes the labor. Common for brakes, batteries, suspension components, and accessories bought outside the dealer network.
Why it matters
An aftermarket warranty pays for the part it covers; it does not pay for consequential damage to the vehicle. Keeping the receipt and warranty card is what makes a future claim possible at all.
What it is NOT
It is not a vehicle warranty, not an extended service contract, and not automatically a threat to your factory coverage — a factory claim can be denied only when the part caused the failure.
