TSB (Technical Service Bulletin)
A manufacturer’s repair instruction to dealers for a known condition — documentation of a known fix, not a safety order.
Part of the Recalls & manufacturer programs cluster.
What it means
A TSB is a document the manufacturer sends to its dealers describing a known condition, how to diagnose it, and how to repair it. Some TSBs are free fixes within a warranty; others describe a repair procedure used only when a customer reports the symptom.
Why it matters
If your symptom matches a TSB, the dealer already knows the fix. Asking “is there a TSB for this symptom?” can turn a long diagnostic hunt into a known repair path — and it documents that the manufacturer is aware of the pattern.
What it is NOT
A TSB is not a recall. It is not a safety order, it does not force a free repair on an expired warranty, and it does not extend your coverage by itself.
