Recall remedy
The repair, replacement, or refund that fixes a recalled defect — free, with no age or mileage limit, once it is available.
Part of the Recalls & manufacturer programs cluster.
What it means
A recall remedy is the fix the manufacturer provides for a recalled condition: a repair, a part replacement, or in some cases a refund or repurchase. Remedies are performed free of charge regardless of the vehicle’s age, mileage, or warranty status.
Why it matters
The remedy is the part that matters day to day — a recall with an available fix costs nothing; a recall awaiting parts means waiting. Ask the dealer whether remedy parts are in stock before scheduling.
What it is NOT
It is not a warranty repair, not a finding of fault or liability, and not always instantly available — remedy development and parts distribution take time after a recall is announced.
