Odometer rollback
Odometer tampering that lowers displayed mileage — a fraud that makes every mileage-based warranty calculation unreliable.
Part of the Exclusions & limits cluster.
What it means
Odometer rollback is the alteration of an odometer to show fewer miles than the vehicle has traveled. Because warranty terms are mileage-limited, a rolled-back odometer makes remaining-coverage calculations untrustworthy.
Why it matters
If mileage looks inconsistent with wear, service records, or history reports, the remaining warranty on paper may not exist in practice. Verify records and title history before relying on a displayed mileage figure.
What it is NOT
It is not a legitimate repair, not the same as an odometer display malfunction, and not a paperwork quirk — it is a documented fraud issue with title-record consequences.
